Raayan Movie Review: Dhanush is a hero who has achieved separate stardom at the pan-India level with different films. This versatile actor came in front of the audience with Rayan movie as his 50th movie. Apart from the story of this movie, Dhanush also directed it. And let's know what kind of result Dhanush got from such a special movie through this review.
Raayan Story:
Karthavarayan's (Dhanush) parents die in his childhood. Karthavarayan is responsible for raising two younger brothers, (Sandeep Kishan, and Kalidasu Jayaram) and a younger sister, Durga (Dushara Vijayan). Karthavarayan lives in this world. Shekhar (Selvaraghavan) will be their big guide in this journey. However.. Due to the gang war between Durai (Saravanan) and Sethu (SJ Surya) in the same village, Karthavarayan's life starts to be disturbed. The younger brothers and sisters who have been brought up for life have to go down into that quicksand. Did Ryan save his people from this situation? Or? Who does Ryan have to lose on this journey? The story of this film is what kind of situations he faced.
Raayan Analysis:
Although the distance between Tollywood and Kollywood is small, the gap between these two is big in terms of emotions. Telugu audiences can't accept tragedy in the way that Tamil audience appreciates it. Especially in a star hero movie, even if there is more tragedy, he remains a nominal figure in the story, but here the result makes a difference. Now the same thing happened with Ryan. Although Dhanush's character is established as very powerful in the film, it is surprising that the character does not add any additional strength to the story. At one point, the audience watching the movie and the character of Dhanush, who is acting in the movie, become equal.
Rayan's movie starts with a good emotional touch. The way the story unfolds from there also feels amazing to match our nativity. Sandeep Kishan took full responsibility without spoiling the mood of the auditorium in the first off. Along with the love track, if his character is entertaining with the mass buildup... the way Dhanush has been establishing his character in Underplay is really good. And when the gang war starts in the story, Karthavarayan (Dhanush) starts getting exposed. With the story turning with the pre-interval fight sequence and the interval ending with a pukka masa masala bang, Rayan is on the right track, and the hope is that the story will continue.
From the second off onwards, Rayan's narrative begins to weave a Tamil flavor. Until then, the whole movie was driven by characters. Characters' behaviors suddenly change. Pony.. There will be no justification scenes to tell why it turns like that. All the story progression shown to us till then has gone in vain. All the hero's childhood dreams are shattered in this whole turmoil. In this confusion, the roles of the villain, the hero, and his younger brothers become clear. And Rayan Climax has no chance of liking the Saduru Telugu audience at all. With this.. Rayan, who has to stand somewhere.. Dhabelmani falls down and ends up as a very ordinary film.
Actors Performance, Technical Department:
There is no need to say anything new about Dhanush as an actor. Ryan is immersed in the role. What is surprising here is Sandeep Kishan's character. Sandeep Awali played a role with many shades. Even if Dhanush is on the opposite side.., he has shown his mark, which is not an ordinary thing. However.. even though Sandeep is pleasing as an actor.. it would have been better if he had not done this role. Seeing Sandeep Kishan in such a role is disappointing for the Telugu audience. And Selvaraghavan, S.J. Surya, Prakash Raj, Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar had perfect padding, but no one could be used to their full potential.
In this Rayan film with so many stars.. Dushara Vijayan who played the role of Chelli.. impressed the audience with her performance. Technically, Ryan shined here and there. Especially Om Prakash's cinematography is amazing. Rahman's music does not have much sparkle. The director in Dhanush gets positive marks in the making. If not.. one should be very careful about the story. The production values are rich.
